Management Accountant

This is a hands-on Management Accountant role within a well-established manufacturing and distribution business based in Ossett.

The company has built its reputation on producing and supplying specialist products into commercial markets, supported by a combination of in-house manufacturing and an established distribution network. With operations spanning multiple regions, the focus remains on consistency, efficiency, and delivering reliable financial performance.

The role:

You’ll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate, timely reporting across the group. This is a detail-focused position where organisation and accountability are key.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts
• Managing stock reconciliations and posting movement journals
• Reviewing journals prepared by junior team members
• Calculating and validating commission figures
• Processing and reviewing GRNI, intercompany transactions, and recharges
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting detail
• Reviewing expense postings, ensuring correct VAT treatment and coding
• Maintaining and overseeing the expenses system, including controls and user setup
• Managing the fixed asset register and capitalisation process
• Preparing and submitting UK and international VAT returns
• Supporting the year-end audit process
• Assisting with budgets and rolling forecasts
• Producing cash flow forecasts and updates

You’ll also be responsible for delivering meaningful variance analysis, with clear explanations against budget and prior performance.

• Part-qualified or qualified by experience within a Management Accountant role
• Previous exposure to a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Confident reviewing work and identifying inconsistencies
• Able to manage deadlines and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced setting
